Maniye is a girl of a Wolf tribe known as the Winter Runners situated in the northern Crown of the World, who, curiously has two souls, tiger and wolf.
Two beasts who are forever enemies, with a major war between them ending a few years before Maniye's birth. The Wolf after years of being subjugated was crowned victorious and the Tiger forced back to the ruin-filled Highlands farther north. This long rivalry also extends inside her, as the two souls vie for position. This constant battle leads to unfathomable torture.
